House Reconfiguration, Clover Hill

A new kitchen and dining area without the need to extend.

Situated at the corner of a housing estate, this house had a small kitchen and dining space compared with the rest of the house. The Client’s initial thoughts were for an extension. However, following a review of the layout, it became apparent that there was room to reconfigure the existing space rather than building into the garden. An existing disused room was utilised to accommodate a new utility, WC shower and cloakroom. A new kitchen was then expanded into the old utility freeing up space for an enlarged dining area. Existing rear window openings were altered to increase daylight. The main feature is a floor-to-ceiling corner window with expansive views over the town.
